Agreed! Our phone conversations were the most random thing ever. I loved every second of every phone call I had with him.

I didn't know this guy very well either, but it's really awesome that he left such a positive impact on this board. He will truly be missed.

His family has my prayers as well.

I actually attended the memorial at his high school yesterday. They had it out in the garden/farming area, where he worked. It was beautiful. They played his music, and some people shared memories of him. They also had food inside, where a lot of people ate and mingled. There was a room with pictures and a really big poster laying on a table for people to write notes to Cassidy. I wrote so much, and cried the entire time. It was rough, but I'm really glad I went. It was nice to be in his world for a little while; in his element. :]

I am glad to hear that he was an organ donor. Wish more people would consider that.

Hi, David,

I'm Cassidy Ringwald's Dad. Thanks so much for the package of messages. We knew Cass did a lot of on-line chatting about music and other stuff, but we didn't know that he'd actually developed friendships of a sort. While the posts don't ease our pain - in fact, I've only been able to make it through a few so far - they do somehow validate his spirit.

To many of the folks on-line, I'm sure Cazz's death is old news. Still, if anyone is interested in seeing his obituary, reading our "eulogy" (from his wake), or are curious about the investigation, I can help.

For what it's worth, Cass and I debated religion, music, and other subjects endlessly. Your impressions are pretty accurate: he was very intelligent and well informed in certain areas, had a great sense of humor, loved many people (though seldom said so), and was still maturing. I can't begin to express the joy he brought us in his life or the depth of our loss in his passing.

That's wonderful that he sought you out...I can imagine it must be painful to read still, but it seems like they appreciate it and now know Cassidy had more friends and relationships than they knew about. Thanks again, David, for the great idea and taking charge!
