| I need some serious prayer people. For many things. First, my dad. He just got out of jail and got the same dirty probation officer he had before, the same one who put him in this last time for something that not only he didn't do, but never happened. Here is a thread on FS about the whole situation in detail. - http://forums.firestream.net/showthread.php?t=26755Second, I need prayer for this problem I have. For a few months, I had quit having lust issues and pornography issues. Well, about 6 months ago it started coming back with full force. It's like I (and most guys in our culture I'm sure) can't keep my eyes off of girls in tight clothes, half naked pics, etc. Our culture doesn't realize that this stuff actually hurts people, and it's hurt me badly. Third, I've been called to ministry, but I have a problem with my mouth. I used to be able to control it, but now it's like I can't carry a conversation without dropping the f-bomb or the s-word and such. It's pretty much taken over my life. I don't want to go to seminary or even preach a sermon and then have the f-bomb fly out of my mouth without warning. Sometimes I don't even realize that I say it, and my grandparents are like "stop using that word", and I'm like "huh? I said it again?" |

| For the language you might start out by replacing it with something silly and then working from there. like for example. "FISH STICKS!" also words like "freakin, flippin, etc" sure they are replacements, but once you work to that point you can take the next step and work on trying to get those out.
As for the lust, try keeping a rubber band around your wrist...anytime you start to feel aroused or start to feel sexual thoughts coming in just stretch that rubber band back and make it snap your wrist. The feeling of pain can do a good job of killing that feeling. I heard this from a pastor once at church and I thought it was a brilliant idea.
will pray though. |

I don't think you're dealing with anything here that are not normal for most people. I don't really have many answers for you however. My lust issues have pretty much gone away. I love my wife, and I don't find other women all that attractive anymore. So in the words of Lust Control, "GET MARRIED"! Also I believe XXXchurch has some accountability software that you can install on your computer that will alert your accountability partner to the fact that you have accessed pornographic material. Maybe find someone that you can do this with. Swearing, IDK. I use swear words, not all the time. But I use them, most people do. You just need to think about what you're going to say before you say it. Ask the people around you to hold you accountable for your words. Will keep you in prayers. |

| I rarely swear out loud... but I do a fair bit in my mind. It's comes out when I'm angry, in a big way. The company you keep can have a big influence on your language. I'm part of a local metal scene where c*nt is used as a greeting more often as an insult!!! |

| I'd appreciate some prayer. I've had a ton of medical problems since I was 12 (Hypermobility Syndrome, arthritis, chronic pain) and we have finally found something that might help. It's called Prolotherapy and my first appointment is on December 18th (my birthday). It's going to be pretty painful, but I figure an hour of pain is worth months of being pain free (or at least months of the pain being at a lower level). I think the treatment will last about five months with me going once or twice a month. But I'd appreciate any prayers ya'll could send my way! And maybe a few for the doctor who will be doing it. |

I've just about given up on getting my own house or apartment and living on my own by myself, with no one else to help out on the bills. If it wasn't for the damn economy, this wouldn't be a problem. But now, I'm considering probably staying where I am until I get married, IF I ever get married, which to me is highly doubtful. So for now, I'm staying where I am. Sure, I'll get a job, but risking it on my own in this dumb economy is not worth it, especially by myself. |
