Positive light about the devil? Not seeing it anywhere... he wants us to not be close to Christ, to go against God's teaching, to live for ourselves and hold our own knowledge and wonderful opinions higher than God's word and wisdom, to indulge in every lust of the flesh... oh and to join him in hell, yay... thats positive.

Have a good read of John.

Satan did kind of inadvertently help Jesus in the Gospels by testing him, though. I think there's something similar in the book of Job too, but I'm not sure (haven't read any of the OT in a real long time).

The scripture is clear, this in not really up for debate. Like unblackmetal.. has pointed out, we are told to "Hate Evil", not just in that one verse, but in countless scriptures in the Word of God.
The devil is not made in Christ's image. The devil, like all fallen angels cannot be saved, they are damned already; and I would say that the scriptures are quite clear about this. He is trully our enemy, not men, but the principalities of darkness in this world.
