Do people actually bother to do any research before picking a band name? It's not like we are not one every single metal page on the internet.

Yes, that was my daughter that commented. She was just letting them know in case they didn't know.

I'm hoping others will "let them know" as well.

Perhaps we could give them so good name suggestions. I don't think Led Zeppelin is being used any more. How about Black Sabbath. Ohhhhh, or KISS. I don't think Gene Simmons would mind. How about something a bit more modern like CREED. That's a good name.

Honestly, I don't get why some young bands just don't do a bit of research first. It's not like it's that hard with the internet.

Well, considering we have only had a Fasebook page for a little over a week...

I noticed there's a lot of Ultimatums on the last.fm page. For bands created outside the US, is that just how it has to be?

Y'all are seriously trolling this band's Facebook page telling them that they aren't "real metal", they don't deserve to have as many fans as they do, etc.? Ridiculous. Let them use the name. Maybe the name means something to them, just as it means something to the Ultimatum y'all are accustomed to. In any case, short of trying to sue them there isn't much y'all can do to stop them. All that the trolling will accomplish is giving thrash Ultimatum bad publicity. Multiple bands having the same name is very common in metal. If you've ever searched for bands on Encyclopaedia Metallum, you should know this. Did you know that there is more than one Slayer, several bands called Suffocation, and even another Slipknot? Yeah. It's not a big deal.

I've seen all the Suffocations on there before. Did you ever look at them though? The ones that didn't break up all changed their name.

As long as you've copyrighted the name, there should be no problems. I wouldn't think people will be confusing your band with this one, particularly if they haven't played live nor released anything yet.

From what I've seen, everyones posts aren't anything to be ashamed of. They are just letting them know the information. I didn't see anyone say they "don't deserve fans" or say anything inappropriate. I appreciate you guys letting them know since I don't have a Facebook page.

Yes, there are several bands with the same name. Before the internet it was much harder to find out if a name was being used. Thus more than one Slayer, Overkill and even Vengeance. Now it's as easy as Google or Wickipedia.

Here's the thing, this ultimatum was the second band to use the name, there was a rock band before, but like Scott said, much harder to reasearch that when they started

i have done what you have asked and hopefully with the threat of atty.they will back down.i was really frosted about the comment made to julianne..she was very direct in her remarks.nothing deserving of that rude comment.noone has said anything about the fans.only that lady amy and i informed her that we have only joined facebook 12 days ago and our numbers are increasing daily..i hope this helps.maybe with the title promotional manager behind my name will scare them..

I doubt y'all could actually file a lawsuit against this band, let alone win. And even if you could, is suing the **** out of a bunch of LITTLE KIDS over their band name really worth it? We're not going to sue anybody. Sherri was representing us and just let them know how it is.

I have a bad perception of the FB fan system due to people always becoming fans of stuff like "Accidentlly walking into a sliding glass door, kicking your cat cuz it was so embarrasing, and then laughing at yourself and your cat, lololol."

Imho, the more you go on about it, the more they will revel in the attention your giving them and they won't stop, it will become " lets do the us vs them thing".

Just leave it be... pretty sure they won't be huge at all.
