| This record label is founded by Elan and me. We want to focus on helping out artists/bands that are difficult to classify and are very talented but are not getting the recognition they deserve. You can check out our website at: http://barrenmeadowsrecordings.blogspot.com |

So far we've only signed a doom and drone/ambient band. Ha. |

| Like I said in other thread. We are Christians but this label focus more on the music and we do accept Christian artists and secular as well with restrictions of course. We prefer to allow people to see the meaning behind the music on their own. |

I did read the post mazzie... But I thought it`s a Christian label still.. I don`t have a problem that but as a Christian I don`t went to buy secular music.. So my question is are you going to state if the bands is Christian or secular on it. |

| I can do that if you prefer. Both TMD and Cephalophore are secular projects by Christians. What that means? The projects doesn't focus on religion really but it's completely safe if you know what I mean. |

As for me I like that..It would help we decide to buy the music or not. Thanks mazzie |

| well tmd has christian based themes but it also has secular themes, thats why i choose not to label it as either, because your going to have people from both sides saying its not this or that, like for instance the picture i used, most christians would say thats not of god, but not bother asking the meaning behind it, which is reading a book by its cover, that picture does not stand for suicide, it stands for killing my inner demons, but most would just take it at face value, which is wrong in any case, but on the same token there is going to be secular people who say because i might make a reference to god or scripture that this is god propaganda and that im not being straight forward about it, its up to me as the composer to deicide how i want to present said music, god is directing me how he sees fit and i feel i am doing what i need to help myself get better, so to answer this to where it makes sense tmd is a secular christian band, its not either or it just is, but by no means is it against god or pro satan, it is as i said earlier, if i was forced to label it then yes it is christian but i choose not to label it |

| Personally, I see this label as expressive from my own Christian perspective, because we get to sign Christian bands, as Christians ourselves, but we don't want to just limit our label to only that. I will say that we both are completely against anything too hateful or vile. I plan on writing little review columns for each release we set up, so if those little columns can help shed light on our artists, then great.
To ask why this stuff is on the board is like asking why Eluveitie or other bands are mentioned on the headlines. All due to affiliation. |

| I wouldn't exactly call Cephalophore "secular"...but what do I know...I'm just his wife.
I wouldn't call it Christian, either, as there isn't very much in the way of lyrics.
What do you call a Christian who does non-lyrical music? |

| Cephalophore is ... I don't know really. I am a Christian and I've used Christian themes for previous albums (including one that was entirely based on Tenebre and included a lot of explicitly Christian spoken word samples) and I probably will again at some point. But at the same time I've done albums based on things in a dogs life, or old time isolation hospitals, or just used a lot of twilight zone samples.
One thing I can promise is that there will never be anti-Christian or offensive things in anything I do. |
