| personal experience of the divine/alternative tellings of the christian mythos are not heresy....or at least not very objectionable.
and by mythos i merely mean stories with metaphorical meaning, irregardless of if they are factual. |

and by mythos i merely mean stories with metaphorical meaning, irregardless of if they are factual. It would essentially be on that statement. What I mean is that we would be discussing the validity of those divine or alternative tellings as well as whether or not they are heretical. Also, we would be discussing the weight of personal experience against the weight of ultimate truth (this does not mean I am claiming with no evidence that a certain theology is true and another is not just because I believe it to be truth. What I mean is that personal experience doesn't always = truth, etc. That would generally be the topic... if your interested. I don't really want to start tonight though, I'm spending time with my girlfriend right now. |

| I'm studying a book from Eugene H. Peterson called "The Jesus Way", and whatever part of the Bible that God calls me to read that day, or whatever I flip to. Which sometimes the book and what I flip to coincide with each other.
I'm also researching Gnosticism, the Hebrew language, and some other subjects. |

| I'm studying the Bible, and apologetics. I've been reading New Evidence That Demands a Verdict and Evidence for the Resurrection, both by Josh McDowell. I HIGHLY recommend New Evidence That Demands a Verdict. It will change your life, or at least really help in casting out some doubts you may have. Mostly, it's great to serve as apologetics, AND especially to point things out to help those who struggle a lot with skepticism, especially about whether the Bible is inerrant or not and about Christ in general. I wish all the non-Christian skeptics I know could read this!
I've been mostly interested in theology lately though. Hence studying my Bible (well, different versions, such as my favorites which are NASB, ESV, and Holman CSB), and dead sea scrolls. I wish I could read in Greek and Hebrew too...
Lately, I have been especially studying on 1st Corinthians 11, specifically on headcoverings and why Paul was talking about it so intently here. I used to believe it was only a cultural thing, but I have found out that it may be way more than just "authority" headship; also a literal headcovering. And more than just cultural.
I'm still finding out, and hopefully God really clears this up for me. A close Christian friend of mine started covering her head, believing it is a command somewhat near the same level as taking communion is; in an attempt to refute this, I am actually believing more and more that she might be right about it being a command for all. Notice how women in church covered their heads up until the 20th century, especially since the feminist movement of last century.
Anyways, I also love studying numbers, mathematics, early civilizations, and psychology (since I'm studying this at university). |

| I am studying Anthropology (my major) and taking Norwegian (minor in Scandinavian Studies).
I am also studying the book of Revelation with my church group. On my own time, I am reading through the New Testament chronologically. I just finished 1 Thessalonians yesterday. Soon, I hope to start reading "The City of God" by Saint Augustine, which has been sitting idle on my desk for quite some time. |
