.. ever thought about it? Do you think there is a difference or would you consider them the same thing?
I have some views on it... but I'm curious what other people's might be.

is God the beginning and the end.. at the "same time" or at "seperate times' or both?
And would a place where NO TIME existed have such a thing as a Beginning and an End?
And where there is Forever.. can there also be a place of No Time ( Eternity) ?

And also, God says in the Old Testament to Moses that " i am that I am ". In Hebrew know as ehyeh".
He is the I am that all other I am's came from.
But that is a different subject than eternity and forever..
Eternity being a place where No Time exists and Forever being a place where Time does not End.. what does t5hat tell us about Eternity and Forever?

Alright, I'll share my views on it.
There is a riddle in understanding the difference between Eternity and Forever.
The answer to the riddle is the answer to the very nature of Life and Death.
Here, as I see it, is the answer, in the vulgar-
Eternity is a place with no Time. Forever is a place of Time with no End.
Life is Eternal. Death is forever.
( Life in heaven is described as eternal - Death in Judgement is described as Forever ).
That is because those who Become Fully Alive are Alive in the Spirit, and this Spirit dwells both in Time but also Beyond Time... conversely, those who become Fully Dead, in the Second Death, become fully dead in the Spirit and are therefore completely consumed by the domain of Time. ( Which means that they exist in Time without end, or i nanother way.. Time Complete).
As CS Lewis put it.. The Heavenly are too large to fit into hell and the Hellish are too small to exist in heaven.

Believeing that energy is Eternal and the Universe is eternal are two differnet beliefs. Which one is it, wizard?
The universe is mad eup of matter, ,not just energy.. when all that matter gets converted to energy at the completion of Entropy.. the universe will be at an end for two reasons.
1. A universe without matter is not a universe anymore. It can be decribed as a Void.
2. When everything is reduced to pure energy.. time does not exist.. because time only can exists when you have at least two objects which exist in some sort of space. ( which requires matter).

I have nothing much to add here, other than to express my agreement with Kamerad Ash on the subject. Sure, we could delve even deeper into the topic...but I believe his summary is sufficient for the time being.

This is a philosophical and Physics debate.
Eternity is limitless amount of time.
I am taking Metaphysics this coming semester, so I will be looking into the question of time.
The question is can eternity exist within the bounds of the universe? Eternity "can" exist from the starting of the universe and continue all the way through the life of the Universe, but it can not be measured, but since Eternity is a limitless amount of time, it is conceivable that Eternity continues beyond the life of the universe, if that is the case, than it is possible that it existed before the universe.
All is needed is comprehension of time that is limitless. Since God existed before the universe, he existed in a limitless time-frame, his mere existence allows him to comprehend "time" in a limitless way.
Forever is continuous amount of time. So it is very similar to Eternity.

But there is also such a thing as a place with No Time... Eternity is often used to describe this. And that is how I use it.
The concept of a place and experience of No Time has to be mainly adressed spiritually and not through lower level physics .. although it is expressed somewhat in recent years In Quantum physics ( which is also highly philosophical and increasingly spiritual).
For example, in quantum physics, photons and the smallest of light particles and waves are now understood to not to be subject to the laws of known physics.. They react outside of time and space as we understand them in newtonian and einsteinian physics.
They also seem to react to intelligence via observation.. as seen in The now Famous Copenhagen Interpretation.

It can not be an illusion, simply because, then everyone is hallucinating the same thing.
A better word would be perception.

That is God. The physical universe can be scientifically proven to have a beginning. They can't prove WHAT made it, but they can prove that it WAS created.

Scientifically speaking, time is an illusion, so I guess Jon's statement isn't wrong, although if I had to guess he is approaching that statement from a superstitious angle.
All time is is a rate of change, and there is no place in which the past or the future exists, at least in this physical universe. That is why time differs throughout the universe, because the rate of change is no uniform thing.
