So I've been talking to this new girl.. that I have seen for a long time in some of the places i hang out at, but never talked to her before. I found out something weird ... check this out..

Her name is Laura, she lives in North Park, she has a scooter , she has blue hair.

That is rather unremarkable.. except this-

My ex-girlfriend's name is Laura, she lived in North Park, she had a scooter and she had blue streaks in her hair....



Dooodz.. that is a trip. Problem is.. is that I told her this.. which is basically breaking one of the cardinal rules when you first start talking to a girl . The Rule of " never talk about ex girlfirends... or even too much about other girls at all".

So now she isn't talking to me, ,which is ok.. but whatever..I couldn't hold it in. .I had to tell her what a crazy coincidence that was.


Anyone else have any similar experiences?

There is a healthy way to bring up past loves.
The topic is bound to come up if you get to know one another.
(usually I've had them ask - then I tell)

However, it can be dangerous territory.

Dudes talking about their exes is cool. Just don't moan about your lost love, how awesome she was, stuff like that. Well, not even that. If you wanna talk about how super she was, that's fine. But if I'm having a bad day, I can guarantee you I'm gonna feel insufficient. But no bishin and moanin. That's no fun to listen to and it creates a pretty awkward situation--do I jump on the bandwagon and go along with it? Do I sit here and say nothing? Do I tell you to shut up?
