| I am officially part of the navy. For now my job is intel specialist, until I finish college, and then I will go to Officer Canidate School, and from there, SEAL training (BUD/s). I ship out Febuary.
Peace out,
Christian. |

| 4 years sooner if I can augment the army in a combat support role by the IA program. Or if I am held up or my home is invaded. |

| That's if you pass Seal training. Most of the candidates do not pass the training. They try and weed you out.
The killing thing - not so great. It isn't a video game.. you have top live with it for the rest of your life. I found out how tough it is, a little, from my grandparents.. some of whom fought on the American side in WW2 and some of whom fought on the nazi side. Even as old men.. they suffered major problems from the psychological and physiological impact of taking people's lives.
Of course, the less it bothers you.. the better a bullet catcher you will make.
But testosterone crazed 19 an 20 years old think it's all Coolness and that they are Invulnerable. |

Even daring to go to SEAL training is commendable. It takes a lot to bravery for anyone to brave that sort of abuse. - Quote :

But testosterone crazed 19 an 20 years old think it's all Coolness and that they are Invulnerable. No offense, but this is a dumbass thing to say. First of all, you got the age range all messed up. 1)The average BUD/s graduate is 25 to 27 years old. 2) Regarding the "crazed" comment: This bears witness to just how many video games and movies you've watched. TRUE special warfare operations (be it green berets, delta, pararescue, SWCC, combat controllers, SAR, Force Recon, etc.) are NOT rambos, and DO NOT encourage them to be, but they DO encourage courage and fearlessness, which, if you knew ANYTHING other what the boobtube told you, KEEPS you alive under fire because it grants you the ability to think under stress. If you actually lived around the military, like I have all my life, you'd realize that this crazed testosterone fueled rambo 20 year old DOES. NOT. EXIST. They may be that way going in. They sure as hell aren't after training. Tom Clancy even remarked upon how true the reputation of the special forces being known as "quiet professionals" really is. So don't judge what I am getting myself into by Modern Warfare 2. And don't try and say that I am wrong, because I have an entire lifetime worth's of firsthand experience from my dad (who was Naval SpecOps) to prove your claims wrong. |
