I don't find the lyrics emo in the least, being emotional isn't necessarily being emo... everyone's entitled to spill their hearts. The lyrics as a POEM were ok, as song lyrics they would work better (which is what they are, so good).

I wrote this for a girl...and it was emotional.
I had tears as I wrote it.
And the cut my heart part is more metaphorical than emo kids cutting their self.
