Guitar wise, I'm trying to learn how to play more "true" metal without hardcore influences. Any recommendations on 80's thrash would be great!
And im currently TRYING to finish up my Cycle Down project. Its an Industrial/Dark Pop type project i've been wanting to complete, but vocals are a pain in the butt to record with Sony Acid 6.0. lol.

Amongst grad school requirements I am slowly working on a classically-influenced (in composition, not flamboyancy) prog project, as a well an occasional new song for Vikarbyrgi, blackened progressive metal.

You're in Vikingbirdie?
I knew Ethan was in it, as well as one other person, but I didn't know it was you?

Yeah. No clue as to how its future is going to go, though. Grad school has me by the balls.

I'm working on the Eclipsing Black full-length, but I haven't been working much on it lately. I will probably begin work on a new track this weekend... maybe lol. I'm also working on original songs with the local band I just joined.

Gonna be some old and new school death metal woth various progressive influences, some keys, acoustic guitar, Death vocals, black metal vocals and even clean harmony vocals.

Great song! Not into the rest of the album though, lol
I've been trying to learn some Dream Theater songs lately. I pretty much got Erotomania down, but there's that one part on 6:00 that kills me. Dual bass and keyboard part, pretty sick. It would be great to learn Dark Eternal Night.

I am currently working on some songs for Dis-Ease an old school crossover style project (think The Accused meets the Crumbsuckers ) I am also starting to work on Frost Like Ashes stuff again. I have a few songs that I need to track for them, as well as some music I am in the process of writing.
also working on starting a grindcore style project, I would say death metal, but doubt I am quite as technical as modern death needs and feel a bit like a punk lately... so grindcore will suffice...

I just got back today after doing 5 gigs over 4 days with my bass player's other band, The Muddy Turds. Their regular drummer couldn't do the tour, so I stepped in to save the day
I had a ball with them! Didn't get a lot of sleep, but it was a great little holiday.

Just released an ambient EP, been playing with a psych-doom collective, doing ambiences for WTTA, and should be finally finishing the full-length black metal album this weekend.
Lots has been done with Old Forgotten Lands recently, though.
