Yeah he's really good. Plus he's fully committed, and is the reason we are going to be playing live now, so yeah, I think it was a wise decision to have him join up.

1. I don't particularly care how a guy in my band chooses to dress. Shane had known about us for a long time, and came up to us really wanting to fill in on bass for us. Having a hard time finding members as I was, I was not going to turn down someone who is committed simply because of combovers and scene looks. Musical ability is what a person should truly look at, and not their sense of fashion.
2. We are a grindcore band. There is no set way to look or whatever in the grindcore world, it is a 'do your own thing' kinda deal. Leave the retarded 'OMG WE NEED TO DRESS A CERTAIN WAI" mindset to the extreme metal scene.
3. Due to both Josh and Shane's 100%, all-in, diehard commitment to the band, ExMx has gotten more exposure, attention, and support within the last 3 months than it has in nearly it's entire existence. These guys promote harder than pretty much anyone else I know, and within the last month, we already have 3 shows booked (one of which will be with A Plea for Purging and The Abominable Iron Sloth, a really good sludgecore band), and from what we've been discussing, there may even be a small tour in the summer, which is something I never would have been able to do by myself. I have looked for members for literally years, with no takers until recently. With these guys in the band (especially Josh), the overall quality of our music has been taken up several notches.
I'm not saying all of this to provoke or anything. I'm just merely stating my views on this. I really could not care less about how Shane looks, and I knew someone was going to eventually say something about it, but it doesn't bother me. The way he looks and dresses does not affect our music, so why should it really matter anyway? It's not like we're going to start playing open string chugga breakdowns and have whiny lyrics about how much we hate the fact that our ex's broke our hearts or something like that. We aren't changing our style. We might incorporate and experiment a bit, but we're always going to be primarily a grindcore band.

I dress a certain way and you cannot tell what music I love..
Every second guy had an undercut when I was younger... undercut or combover... hmmmm....
trends are funneh.
Hope everything keeps kickin along broc!

@broc
lmao... taken way out of context and way to defensive, i couldn't careless about whos in Eternal Mystery as i don't really listen to it.
the point i was making is that of your avatar... clearly making a point of what "should" be played in "grind"
taken from THE AVATAR... "no combovers" "no scene"
SO IN A JOKEY WAY!
i was simply saying, if that avatar is how you look at grind or whatever, thats going against it.

I know lol
That is the back of a Cattle Decapitation shirt btw, and they are most definitely not a serious band
I'm not fond of trends either, but at the same time, I'm not going to spout inflammatory and incendiary comments to those who partake in trends and such. Shane knows that I only like a handful of deathcore and metalcore bands, and that doesn't bother him at all.

Good post, Broc.
Dude Munkey, wanna hook up and play a gig sometime? Since you are in Lafayette, we will probably do it for free. Just saying.

I will allow this...if you come to clarksville Tennessee for a gig.
That's almost in Kentucky. There will be no way we would be able to do that for free. The only thing we need money for when it comes to shows is gas to get there, food to eat, and a place to sleep, though if a place to sleep could be provided for free, then we'll jump at that lol

I'd let you eat my food. And I could look up gas. But I don't know how you guys would sort out venue stuff. There are two that I know of in my town though. The Coup, and The Warehouse. Both are grind-friendly (if there is such a thing).

Little small venues and stuff like that is perfect for us. We really don't care where we play. We'll even play houses and backyards LOL

Yeah Broc, I'd be down to play with you down here. I doubt yall would appeal to ANYONE in the audience at the places with play, but if yall'd still like to play, I could see about hooking up a show in the next few months.
Olias, we'd be down to play in TN if we were guaranteed gas money, but from LA to TN and back is pretty far, so it'd be close to $300, maybe more.

If you guys (or anyone, really) thinks you're gonna be remotely near WV at some point, let me know. I have info for a group that books most of the shows around here, and if I knew ahead of time that you were going to consider coming-up, I'd get with my metal-head deacon friend to see what we could do to help accommodate ya. Or hit the road to see ya if you were going to be around KY or something.
