Just post some expierences... Me and ELAN were talking about this on another topic, but didnt want to stray from that topic so I decided to make this for all, to share their expiernces... Feel free to get into it

I was sitting on my bed when this went on one night:

Satan Disguised as God: Kill yourself, your family and your GF

I called a friend and he said stop listening to secular music... It wont work if ur trying to be a christian... Since that day... I've stopped listening to that stuff and God has blessed me... I have rarely heard satan rarely Praise the Lord

You really have to watch out because satan will try anything to get you back, and music is one big way!

Be rightgeous all, and don't let evil pull you down, the consequences will be life changing in a horrible way...

I think for me a lot of it comes with the place I'm at right now. I basically moved out to a city to live here, on the other side of the country, after being brought up for 18 years in a small, safe, suburban place.

I am nineteen years old, married, and a believer. Therefore, I have many responsibilities, and if I have any susceptibility to failure, Satan is going to try to push it to its extent. Like I brought up in the other board, he has physically put knives and razorblades on the ground along my walk to work whilst telling me to kill myself. I think there is a lot of history of sin and death in the area I live in, because when I walk along certain roads, I can feel a great disturbing sensation. The grass is brown, there are abandoned buildings due to radioactivity, there have been many murders there, and crows encircle it daily, as if they are simply anticipating a corpse to feed on. It is usually around this area that I feel this stuff happen to me.

I probably sound like some 'supernatural' fiend with all of this... but there's my two cents.

Once again, Christianity in another electronic entertainment filter. Christianity is a lifestyle, not an entertainment filter.

Once again, garbage in garbage out theology contradicts the words of Christ in Matthew:

Matthew 15:16-18 (King James Version)

16And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding?

17Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?

18But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

So, as Christ himself said, it is not about your electronic entertainment, but what is in your heart. I know Christians love bashing Secular music, and in your case I'm glad you quit, but the Truth is, the problem was your heart, not the music. Remember, it can be a sin to read the Bible as well. Why? Not due to the content of the Bible but the heart you have in reading it. The exact same thing with music or video games or any and all kinds of entertainment.

I am not one of those people who believes razors and knives are put in the road by satan or that satan is in my curtains when they flutter at night trying to scare me, or that when my car brakes down that it is satans fault.

I think it important to realize, though, that secular music, in and of itself, has no power over you. Demons cannot inhabit the music and come out of it and hurt you. Do not ascribe power to an inanimate object.

However, secular music communicates. It communicates through the lyrics...and that communication can have an influence on a person. Satan and/demons can use the content of the music to influence us in a negative way.

Also, music can have an emotional effect on us. Not because of anything about the music, itself, really...but because of what we associate it with. If my brain connects a certain type of music with sin, then it might be a good idea for me to avoid that type of music...at least for a time.

So...yeah...if not listening to secular music is helpful to you, then by all means, don't listen.

For me, at my stage in life, secular music doesn't really phase me, but there was a time when I didn't listen to it, and I did find that helpful in my spiritual walk with God.

I believe that God is telling me not to listen to stuff thats unpure and not filled with his praise... So it's b/t me and God... Not between me, somebody else, and God... Just me and God... Sorry if this offends some but i believ secular music is trash (most of it) and unholy...

Well I believe God is telling me to listen to stuff that is PURE and HOLY... Not the opposite... and thats between me and God b/c its a relationship not a religion, but u have to ask yourself, does God want me to listen to this CRAP... If he's trying to tell u no, and you ignore hime then you have a problem... But if God doesn't find anything wrong with it then by all means it's yours and his relationship... I just believe God is telling me to move on, deleate all the trash and unpure and unholy stuff out of ur life! Thats my take on, this whole secular music crap!

Neither am I... which is why I find it absurd that I am even writing these things, but if things happen to me, they happen to me. But yeah, not expecting everyone to believe it.

And no, I don't live anywhere near that place, haha. I don't live in too bad of an area... but it's bad enough for me to feel a general sense of discomfort, along with what I described earlier.

I cross myself all the time. It is never because I want to ward off evil. Though, I suppose, if I were facing some sort of evil, I would probably cross myself then, too.

Understandable.

The problem is, the cross is originally a Pagan symbol. I don't believe symbols have powers either. With the music also comes with the symbols. Not whether or not you have symbols or cross yourself, but the heart.

As for the Secular Music, all I'm doing is making sure because of your testimony, you aren't preaching to the whole Earth that secular music is evil and all that crap.

Nobody is saying you have to listen to secular music, but it is better to discover the true source of your problems and not be as olias spoke of, an extremist who finds the Devil in anything and everything in existence.

If that is one problem I have with Christianity, it is the fact that Christians are the ones who make the Devil and Demons far more powerful than God and Jesus. I'm not ragging on your testimony Not2BPerished, but I get the vibe of fear, hatred, and discrimination when I hear of testimonies like these. By far the worst thing I've ever seen with these kinds of views and testimonies is they become that which they preach against. I have seen that with every person who claimed that. I'm only here to give you congrats for moving closer to God, but I'm here to inform you the Truth and not get a holier than thou "BURN THE SECULAR MUSIC" attitude.

I don't see anything of the sort, regarding that last paragraph. He himself said he was only regarding his own personal relationship with God.

But yeah, I'm not going to say anything else, lest this thread get horribly derailed like most of the other ones these days in which one or two people disagree on something.

But I do understand those first three paragraphs.

Didn't you write something entirely different just a few seconds ago? Anyways, as I said before, I'm not debunking any testimony. I am simply making sure he knows what went on and not to scapegoat if he is scapegoating.

I understand, but I have usually seen this take a step farther than it should go. All I'm trying to do is make sure he doesn't take it to the next step.

I didn't realize this was a sharing stories thread either. Had I known that, I would have replied differently, but still at least make mention of something that I am viewing.

I don't know why everybody in existence is taking my posts as trolling or flaming but they are not. I'm simply looking out for people after my dark few weeks ago. If everybody views my posts as an attack, of course blabberjesus may become the next firestream.

Agreed. And Elan..If you kill yourself..Ill bring you back and kill you again for leaving your amazingly beautiful wife alone deg gummet! As far as the secular music, certain songs do affect me alot. On a whole, im influenced by music amazingly (like really its creepy how much). SOme songs however from the secular market I do see value in. Alot of HAppy Harcore is mainly where that applies. YOu cant not be happy when you listen to that stuff.

Ive had some pretty weord stuff happen too, Elan.
Ive had my mom call me when I was messin around with girls.
Ive had the computer shut down when looking at porn.
Ive had my ipod shut down when listening to a really hateful song.
Ive almost been in crashes after thinkin suicidal thoughts.
I broke my arm, got my first kiss (I feel she stole it..long story)

Ive also had positive experiences as well.
Ive found BB while looking at secular metal (IKNORITE?! go figure...)
Ive found people I would never befriend, help me through hell.
Ive had some cool stuff happen.

I'm not trying to blame the devil on everything, all though he is the reason for all evil... But I think you guys don't believe this "I've seen demons before" because its never happened to you before, and I hope it doesnt lets not get all worked up over this... We're christitians (well most of us are) we are suposed to love, not fight, and also lead a good examples for the "non-believers" becuz most non-believers think we're all hippocrits anyway..
