Has anyone here had an out-of-body experience?

What do you think it is and what causes it? I'm not sure what qualifies as an OBE, I can't say I believe in 'astral projection', though I do believe Paul's writings in the Bible about a guy who was caught up to the 'third heaven', and he didnt know whether it was in-body or out-of-body. I believe in visions and prophetic dreams or trances brought on by the Holy Spirit.

I had an experience a few years ago where I felt like I was floating away from myself out of my bed, was quite aware of it and panicked because I thought I had died and was floating off to hell or something. I wasn't drunk or on drugs at the time (other than anti-depressants), though was quite depressed, if that makes any difference. Definitely no major voyage or anything like that. Again, I'm not sure if that qualifies ... I think they may have just been lucid dreaming, and have some quite natural cause.

interesting, third heaven or plane would be the astral plane or spiritual world and you cannot go there physically so yes paul was in astral form
1st plane physical
2nd plane, etheric
3rd plane, astral/spiritual

I had a major vision experience once.. but it was drug induced..(shrooms). None the less it was a real vision.. and not just merely hallucinations.

The other time when I was almost dead... after a sugery.. All I remember was blackness, nothing but blackness.

Of course, the Time that the holy spirit came upon me in such amamzing power.. I was not out of body.. but my spirit was if it had ascended the body. while being in teh body... and God was within me as well.. pouring out like Jesus describes.. "Like a well overflowing". During this time.. everything I saw and did.. was like seeing or doing it for the first time in a new.. and revealing way. ( to say the least)

Are you talking about being born-again here? I can't say that I can really relate to what you're talking about if that's the case.
