a hard days work doesn't make you fit like the gym does sir. Especially for what I do. check my avatar for details.

Every Thursday I throw about 1,000-3,000 lbs of food in a panel truck, (for our food pantry) and I have to do it in less than 30 minutes.

It's common for me to hit the gym for 2+ hours not long after doing that.

....but, most of the time, I'm sitting at a desk at work. I really don't notice that much of a difference - I still hit the gym regardless.

I agree completely. I could do manual labor all day every day, but still wouldn't get the results I do from hitting the gym.

Evgeny Chigishev is a freaking monster.

He was 273 in the Beijing Olympics, when that picture was taken. He's 287 now, and he's still lean.

I am freakin' impressed.

I got a new max today! 375lbs pwned on the bench.
It wasn't a glorious clean push, but I brought it down and racked it myself - unassisted.

I won't mention the rest of the workout, because its almost identical to the last time I maxed out.

Though, I will state that when I hit the gym Saturday, I got 315 for 6 reps myself - my spotter rode with me for a few extra.

So I've been doing a 4 day split. Heres what it looks like:

Monday:

Bench press
Barbell rows
Bicep curls
Skullcrushers
Hammer curls
Dips

Tuesday:

Back squat
Rack pull
Leg press
Calf raise
Leg curl

Wednesday: Off

Thursday:

Overhead press
Barbell row
Dumbell overhead press
Dips

Friday:

Deadlift
Front squat
Leg press
Calf raise
Leg curl

I'm going to throw in some conditioning stuff in there as well, like farmers walks, treadmill pushes, etc.

No, they're close though. There's pullovers with a dumbell.



....and there's pullovers with a bar. (these are the ones I do)



After I bench and do dumbbells, I do 3 sets of 10 with barbell pullovers.

I'm not sure what the weight this guy is doing, but it doesn't look a whole lot.
I do 165lbs.

Pressed 145 today, working my way back up. The most I've ever done was 150, so I should be getting new PRs soon.

Anyone ever tear clothes from bulking up? I literally have no wearable jeans, and I've sent many boxers to their graves.

I went the other way. About 3+ years ago, I was a flabby sack of crap - weighed 270lbs.

I had to get rid of all my 44-46 "balloon pants".
I now wear 36 waist lose fit (Lose fit because I have big legs)

I even went down some shirt sizes. I used to wear XL to more or less hide in....

Now I wear large and have a handful of medium shirts.

I feel comfortable to wear a skin tight shirt now.

I fill my large shirts out pretty well now. Mediums are a mixed bag. Sometimes they just look slim, and sometimes they're way too tight.

But I seriously need to buy more jeans. I have one pair that isnt tight on my legs and ass, and I somehow managed to tear the crotch out. Alas, this is the price I must pay on my quest to 70s Big.

70's big is huge.

Finally benched 230 for 3 sets of 5. Been stuck here for a while.

Started running again. Wouldnt mind being able to run like I could back when I played soccer.

Max out. Get one push, unassisted.
Do this every 2-3 weeks.

You'll probably do worse the next couple of workouts.... but you'll be unstuck in about a month.

Maxing out is the absolute best way to move your weight up, as far as lifting goes.

It was mainly a form issue. I just did the things that Dave Tate discusses in this video:



235 actually felt much easier today than 230 felt last week, so I can tell I'm on the right track.
