What is your reason for living?

I breathe.

It's always an interesting topic. Christian forums often get swamped with the "For God" responce, but just how real is that?

Personally, I live for a variety of different reasons, including not wanting to pain those that love me by ceasing to live. My depression is fairly common knowledge, but it does dictate theway I think about things a lot. Some of the other reasons include waiting to see what will happen next, curiosity as to what else God has in store for me.

That is a given, Olias.

Good points Iron Guardion. I was gonna point out that the default " For God " answer is not usually anything well thought out.

Interestingly enough, I've actually been pondering that very question lately. I guess I live because I know my friends would be very hurt if I offed myself.

To resurrect in the right place.

Because life isn't just about me.... its about my family, my friends, my church_ the people not the building, there are many things I have yet to do and many things to accomplish. If I did something to prematurely end this life I was given... I would not want to think of the domino effect of consequences and untold heart wrenching grief I would inflict on people. That is what kept me living in the past... just.


Everything that I do is not with expectation, its just cos I love life and know that my now... isn't the same in a week or a year... its changing...

Sorry for the cliche thing, but hey Christian forum... and uh I'm a strong believer.. so eh sorry my life is also for the will of Christ, to be here for others, to love and sow into peoples lives, to leave some awesome thing behind- like a katie jnr hahaha. etc etc and so on.

A lot of people had some good things to say. I really like what I've read.

In a nutshell, my reason for living is:

1. To have a relationship with my God,
2. To help others and be a productive member of society
3. To work on myself so I can have the most effective 1 & 2.

Doing this things not only brings purpose into my life, but also fills me with happiness and minimizes my stress.

To do something great. To strive towards greatness in everything I do.

To be here when a new genre of metal appears.

Got nothing better to do

To help others as much as possible, through Christ. At least that's what I strive to do.

To learn how to love.

To inspire other people and to get inspired by other people.
