| I am at a very low point, spiritually. I have been giving into sin often and sometimes remaining unrepentant of it for a while. This isn't a good place for me right now and I need to get out of it. Prayer please. |

| Here is a tip:
The problem with what the church has taught us is that, when we accept Christ, we still have to go to him to forgive our sins. What Christ really did was take care of all the Sin-sins, on the cross.
In the eyes of God, all of our sin is clean, he sees his Son instead. But we never train our minds and rely on this truth for deliverance of sin.
The price has been paid, we are all new creatures in Christ. Just as Christ died and rose again, so did we when we were born again.
The humanity of Christ, the Sin he paid for, is all gone. We are new Creatures in Christ. Justified in the eyes of God. We do not have to wrestle with sin, once we truly understand this truth. |

Asking for forgiveness is not what I mean by repentance (although, I do believe it goes along with it). Repentance is turning from sin. I do not feel broken, as I should, over my sin. I have not been turning from it. |

| That is more what I was talking about.
Forgiveness and repentance go together. When we accept Christ, we are forgiven, but few ever repent. They do not make that change from the old life to the new life. They try to live the life, with their sins.
Making the death of Christ obsolete in their lives. When one comes to that conclusion that the old life is dead, that sin can be defeated and we live a new life. |

| I heard this today.
The church tells us that when we deal with these things, that we have to "fight it". By fighting it, we give in to it, thus we keep losing.
What one needs to do is, "change the mind", that is find something else to do.
As long as the mind has nothing else to do, it will revert back to default. So we got to change the default. |

| Dude, I can't tell you how many times I've been through this: self-imposed guilt over sin, beating myself up because I didn't have the emotional response to my sinning that I thought I should have, feeling condemned by God and myself, and eventually, coming to feel that God was running me through the wringer, and becoming increasingly distant from Him as my focus drifted from God to just being obsessed with "getting it right".
Human nature is human nature; you shouldn't expect your entire being to feel sorry for having sinned. Why stress yourself out over it? The flesh will never be sympathetic, but your soul is. I'm not insinuating that you should surrender to sin and stop caring. No, you are in the right for guarding yourself, your thoughts, and your actions. But when you sin, just ask for forgiveness and move on.
Trying to right your wrongs by dwelling on them will never do you any good. Don't focus on the "don't"'s, focus on the "do"'s! Don't say to yourself, "I'd better not lie/lust/whatever"; instead, say to yourself, "I want to reflect the love of Christ through my words and actions". Someone once said, "obstacles are things you see when you take your eyes off the goal". You probably won't sin/stress out over sin as much when you're completely focused on what you should do for God and Jesus (rather than what you shouldn't), and are not giving the thought of avoiding sin any mental air-time. (Keep in mind, thinking about sin and thinking not sinning, while having different intent, have the exact same effect.) |

(Keep in mind, thinking about sin and thinking not sinning, while having different intent, have the exact same effect.) This was not the problem. I had been engaged in sexual activity with my girlfriend and I was not able to bring myself to stop. The issue was my lack of willingness to repent and leave this sin behind. I KNEW that this was wrong and that I had to stop it so I could get on in my walk with Christ. My lack of repentance demonstrated a severe spiritual problem. This was not an issue of me beating myself up over sin or being stressed out making sure I am going through enough emotional penance to make sure I'm forgiven. We ended the relationship today, a mutual decision, and I now I will not be mired in this any longer. |

| Just a little update:
I'm having a bit of a hard time feeling connected with God again. Everything that happened was pretty damaging to my spiritual life. I'm starting to try to get back to where I was at before this all happened, but it's difficult - with the damage that was done... It's going to be difficult getting back to where I was, and I won't be able to do it myself, so please pray that God will lead me out of this decay. |
