| Huge baseball fan here, i was watching the cooperstown inductions of Rickey Henderson and Jim Rice today and it got me thinking who are the best players that are eligible for the Hall of fame that are not in the Hall of Fame?
I have several names for you of eligible guys. Many of these guys I realize many of you have never heard of that is because they played in the Negro Leagues before Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier.
I'll give you two modern era players that should be in the Hall 1. Gil Hodges, 2. Andre Dawson, now for the others 3. John Donaldson, 4. Dick "Cannonball" Redding, Dick Lundy, 4. Buck O'neil, 5 Jim "Candy" Taylor. |

| I'm really happy for rickey, He is in my top 5 of all time, And I've been a huge A's fan since 91, I've got the A's logo tattooed, As for who should be yes Andre definitely and Dave Parker, Craig Biggio, Orel Hershiser, And last but certainly Greg Maddux, Also James the final Drillers game at the old stadium is sept 21, if you could go that would be awesome, Me and my kids will be there |

| OK, I'll weigh in here. Steve Garvey, BERT BLYLEVEN (why in the world is he not in Cooperstown?).
Yes, Rickey Henderson does indeed belong. Just look at those stats. The man is a machine! |

| As for Biggio and Maddux, they arent eligible yet so you cant really say they deserve to be in the HoF and arent in. I'm 100% sure Maddux will be and 95% sure Biggio will be. I hope so. As for the others, I agree that The Hawk should be in, as well as Blyleven. Herschiser, maybe, he pitched during a hitters era(which started around 1986) but he had alot of injury-filled and sub-par seasons and only 5 or 6 great seasons. Still, Orel was dominant like few have been for a short time(Sandy Koufax anyone? ok, maybe not THAT dominant).I liked Dave Parker and he is right there, maybe in, maybe out, I dont know. check out this site, it compares players in different eras and also tallies just about every stat you can think of, even total MVP votes over an entire career and average stats over a 162 game schedule: http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/For the record, I think Fred McGriff should be in the HoF, check out his stats, and he hardly gained a pound during his great career. He had one of the prettiest left-handed swings Ive ever seen. I think TOTAL BASES says a heck of a lot about a hitter and he is 45th all time in that catagory.

wow, I just looked at his stats, simply amazing!! 287 wins, a 3.31 era (over 22 seasons, thats says alot) 3701 strikeouts(uh, hello! 5th ALL TIME) and almost 5,000 innings pitched. C'mon people, the HoF voters need to wake up and smell the pine tar!! |

ha ha. I tell ya, I'm a huge Football fan but right now, I am so into baseball that even though I should be so excited about preseason football, I just cant bring myself to get into it. I will when the season opener is maybe a week away but right now, I am following every game, every highlight, every PITCH of MLB. I love it!! |
