| I am going to try to make a bio for Eric in his honor. Later, I will get some pictures on here.
Eric Massie was born in Owensboro, KY on April 20, 1974. He was the youngest of three children with two older sisters and an older brother. His Father passed away several years ago. Eric passed away on August 16, 2009.
I met Eric through a mutual friend and he turned me onto Death Metal, with bands like Obituary, Death, Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, etc. I remember how good he sounded growling out the songs but probably didn't even think about being in a band. Someone had already turned him onto Vengeance Rising-Once Dead who turned out to be one of his favorite bands. In fact, we played Cut Into Pieces live.
Joe Cox (metalcps) and I had jammed together and Joe had moved away. I called him about starting a Christian Death Metal band, which I didn't know of a true one at the time. Of course, Eric introduced me to Death Metal and was so good at it (plus the awesome helicopter hair) that he was our choice for vocalist. He wasn't around anymore for our first demo days, but returned in '96 for some demos and From the Grave.
He got married on July 4th (2004?) and had a baby girl in 2006. His wfe passed away a few months later from a blood clot. He was a great Dad who loved his wife and little girl.
The day of his funeral, they had put a Corpse t-shirt on him and his Die Happy symbol tattoo on his hand, made by Joe, was in plain sight. He is greatly missed by us all and it was very unexpected. R.I.P. Eric!

I just meant he wasn't in the band, he was still around town though. You can PM me if you want and I can explain more since you knew him. Do you live in Owensboro then? |

I wish i could have seen him atleast once before he died, he was my room mate for quite a while we were playing shows and writing some of the earlier stuff, but i had not talk to him in a few years being that i spent the last several years in Florida. From what i understand yogiblair he was under alot of pressure, depressed, ect.. but i was there the day he was born again, so i know he was saved atleast....I really liked working with Eric, he was very creative person and loved heavy music, he also turned me on to Deathmetal,Grindcore, ect...i wish his life wasnt cut short .. RIP |

| I have an idea, if you reissue the CD and/or do a new CD, you should have the sales of the CD's go to Eric's family to help cover the cost of the funeral. Just an idea, what do you think? |

| Good idea, but that could be a looong time away plus we need the funds to record. Since his wife had died, I don't know how the expenses were handled. Great idea though! Man, I needto get ahold ofsome more pictures! |
