| I'm thinking of knocking secular music out of my life for the next 30 days or so. I hate to say it but this is the first real "fasting" if you could call it that, that i have done as a Christian.
I'm NOT trying to insinuate that all secular music is a sin to listen to,..I am however trying to insinuate surrounding yourself with Godly music *if only for a short time* will strengthen your walk with Him
prayers appreciated |

| His avatar is from Shenmue. Shenmue II was an excellent game.
I wish you the best in your endeavor, CC, and hope you get what you need to get out of it. |

| I'm currently giving up Anti-Christian/Satanic music for Lent. I'm repeatedly told that this music harms my spiritual life, so I'm observing myself in order to see if giving it up really does make a change. So far I have not noticed anything, but I still have a long way to go. I do think, if anything, giving up something like this is beneficial because it seems to direct your focus back to Christ whenever you get the urge to listen to that kind of music. And it prevents it from being something you glorify. |

| I've done something like this in the past. Come to find out, there was something else that needed to be done, and I was limiting myself for the sake of limiting myself.
My environment doesn't dictate my spirituality, and if it influences my spirituality, I've made a choice to let it. If I'm spiritually unfit, there are other factors involved besides the materialistic. If I'm spiritually fit, "stuff" won't knock me off my square.
I hope that makes sense of why this didn't work for me. |
