Ok. How do I control the raging feedback I'm always getting with my guitar on high gain? I've noticed it gets worse if I touch any electronic devices... I've tried turning the lights off but that doesn't work. What should I do?

Either purchase better pickups or coat your current ones with candle wax.

While I've never done it myself, our bass player did it to our other guitarist's picks and it definitely helped.

Mine does that if the tv is on. It clicks as people flip through the channels too. But once it's off (or I just back up a good bit) it usually stops almost completly.

Also depends on your guitar, the quality. and the same with the amp. But getting better pick ups would help as well as the wax, it reduces electronic interferance. it is kinda EMP effecting it, power tools really screw this stuff around

| Lower the gain on your amp/pedal , remember LESS IS MORE!!
If this wont fix the problem, u could try a noisegate ( isp decimator, best there is ) |

I might try the wax method for my Gretsch Electromatic. It squeals REALLY loud on stage, i hope this might fix it Though I've been thinking about slapping some EMG soapbars in there. They have some passive Hi-Z pickups that I've been contemplating. Not sure I wanna sacrifice my semi-hollow chamber for a battery, I'm afraid it might get loose and make noise in there.

It's because your high end levels are too loud and you got a reasonably cheap pedal.

Cringes (ewwww, distortion pedals) Anyway, yeah, turn your gain down a bit (Extol played through my Ampeg on the Burial tour (well when they played Fort Worth) and he had the gain down to 5 noise gate is good too if used properly. other methods are preferred especially if you want to go into the studio. Usually best to let the engineer try and control the excess noise from his end.
