| I'm short on time, so I'll try to make this quick.
Basically. our eldest dog has a tumor in her back that has been growing exponentially over the last couple days. Yesterday it started to rupture the skin and she began vomiting. It hasn't stopped. Things calmed down overnight, but I believe thats only because her vital functions were in a recession at the moment.
I could go into a big teary deal about how I don't want my dog to die and such (I don't for the record), but that's not why I'm here. I ask for prayers, for God's will to be done. If it means Jazz (the dog in question) is healed, so be it. If it means she dies, so be it. I'm after the glory for the Kingdom, and am willint to give up everything I have (up to and including my life) for the Kingdom.
I will update as I get more info. At last check, things aren't good. |

| Test results came back, and it is a malignant tumor (no surprise; it was acting too aggressively to be benign). They can't say for sure, but it's looking like the tumor has invaded her liver. For the bleeding, our guess is that an artery in the tumor itself ruptured at some point. If it was anything else, it would have stopped LONG before now.
Mom and I are against putting her down (I always have been with animals; its no different than murder in my opinion. With mom, the dogs and cats are at the same level as my brother and myself are: sons and daughters. To put the dog down would be to put one of her children down). Dad is for it, pointing out that there isn't much that can be done at this point and allowing it to continue will just prolong the suffering. He also notes that Jazz is 11 years old, and even if she does recover, she may be gone in two years anyway. |

| Things have gotten worse. She's gotten weaker. She can't walk long distances, she's still bleeding a small river from the Stage 3 tumor. The vet ran a battery of blood tests when she was in earlier today, results due tomorrow, but it may not matter. Death is imminent. This will likely be the journal of the last day of her life.
Mom and I brought her inside. We got a mover to help get her inside, but she managed to get up and come in on her own, as if she knew what was coming and wanted to be inside with her family when the time comes. Her nephew, Dusty, as well as the two cats, are downstairs helping mom taking care of her. Her niece (Annie) and her half-sister (Holly) are outside, staring in the door, knowing time is short. While mom watched over her, I went outside and hosed down the areas of the deck where the blood had stained. I broke down this morning on the way to school. The Lord came to me, spoke John 14:27:
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid."
...and told me the time had come. Death had shown up in our family for the first time since 1999 (when Tiffany, our Himalayan cat, passed on), and the scythe was in motion. This will be the first major impact the death of a loved one had on me in my life. I had my grandma, Grandpa, aunt, first dog, first cat, and and uncle die since I started having a decent memory. None of those tore me, because I was either too young to understand, or not close enough to them to have it impact me like it has impacted my parents.
We all have regrets when a loved one passes: not being there for them enough, not spending enough time with them, not loving them as much as they deserved. All of those are my regrets in this case. I have not spent enough time with the dogs, or my family, and especially Him for that matter. All of the bitterness I had towards my family has caused me to distance myself from everyone that had cared for me, including the Lord of Hosts.
I believe the Lord is using this tragedy to show me the error of my ways, and to demand repentance of those errors and a change.
I'll post back tomorrow morning when I get up, or when the time comes, whichever comes first. |

| She made it through the night.
Mom came in and updated me. She's still not that much of an eater, but she's been INHALING water this morning. She also went out to the bathroom, but nothing happened there. Now is the time to flood her system with some food and a lot of water. After not using the bathroom for 2 days, she's has to have some crud in her build up that needs to be filtered out. She was also on Nutrecal, medication for nausea and an antibiotc, along with 3 other things, but she's doing a lot better than this time last night, when no one was thinking she'd make it through the night.
I'll post a update around 5 today, I got one class and a 2 hour final today, so I won't be in a position to update as called.
As spoken on "Revelation" - Michael W Smith Band:
"Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty Who was and is and is to come With all creation I sing praise to the King of kings You are my everything, and I will adore You." |

| Things have gone downhill again this morning. She went to the bathroom about 3 hours ago, ate a little early this afternoon. The only thing she has had since she last went to the bathroom is maybe 1/2 - 3/4 cup of water (based on what I injected with a syringe in her mouth and a guess at how much she drank out of the bowl). I split and broke up two dog treats and offered it to her, but she declined, so I just left it beside her head where she could get to it easily if she wanted it. Lord, all I ask of You is this: do what You want with Your will for me and the family, but if Your will calls for Jazz to leave this world, please take her quickly. |

| I could never see an animal suffer like this, putting it down seems more humane at this point |

| Unfortunately guys, its not an issue of humanity, but an issue of morals. I see the putting down of an animal as no different from me picking up a gun and planting a couple rounds into your brain. We don't have the right to decide life and death. Our fallen nature took that right from us. It belongs to the Lord and the Lord alone. If she does pass on from this word, He's deciding when, not us.
EDIT: Will update again around noon tomorrow. She's done A LOT better the last few days. |

| I understand your pain and emotional attachment.. the thing is your dog can't say " I'm in agony"... it obviously is.
Praying for you guys to get through this.
God gave us dominion over animals... they aren't the same as us even though we do attach things to them. Please pray about doing whats best for your dog...I agree with Matt on this. |
