just paid a few hundred to enjoy being able to record a new northern ash album.....on this.... I prefer them over any of the other recorders on the market myself. I hate where they put that CD drive though...worst possible place in the world.

i used to have a ten track version of ZOOM's old recorder the MRS1266 and it's easy to figure out how to use. I don't think i'll even have to read the book with this one.....but this time i will at least put the dang CDROM for the program somewhere safe so when I have to replace the HD I can.

yep, it's a multi track digital recorder. onboard mixing/mastering presets, CD burner....I have no clue if they are available in europe but they, to me, are superior to the Boss, Fostex, Yamaha and Tascam machines.

I scored a nice digital 8 track recently. Had never heard of it before, but saw it on ebay and it took my fancy. It's a KORG D888: http://www.korg.com/product.aspx?pd=257It's really easy to drive! Lots like an oldschool 4 track tape recorder, except I can record the 8 tracks at once now. Oh, and it's digital Has a 40GB harddrive inside, which doesn't sound like much but I've recorded lots of songs already and it's not running out of room yet. It's so, so easy to hook up to the computer as well. It plugs in like a USB thumbdrive. Drag and drop files, backwards and forwards. I haven't used it TOOO much yet, but I'm confident I can have a much better go at our next band demo recording. I just LOVE having more than 4 mics at one time now. It also has phantom power on all 8 inputs, and can even be used as a live mixer if you have powered speakers.
