| I know! I know! I'm an electronic musician, and I don't fully understand impedance. Even worse, I have a Crate guitar cabinet that has a 4 ohm / 16 ohm switch. All it says on the cab is 4 ohm / 16 ohm (8 ohm stereo). My cab has stereo input, oddly enough. So what difference will that make on the sound? Anyone familiar with this stuff? I feel like such an idiot for having to ask this... |

| one 4x12 cab should be ran at 8 ohms. |

| the whole point to that is so that you get the proper response from the cab to the amp. without it you can blow up an amp easily. Take the time to learn how to set it up for your stuff and then make sure you do it the same all the time. switching impedence can be dangerous to some amps...
on my amp, i have a switch so it can match any cab. on my cab i have switches to change it too.. so i have to make sure i have it set up right
I have known people to blow thier amps by doing it wrong. |

| the switch is whether or not you are going to run 16ohms true stereo, 8 ohms normal or 4 ohms which is mono. Google or BING impedance my friend! |
