| 17 Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls,
18 yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior.
19 The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights. (For the director of music. On my stringed instruments.)
Just wanted to share this scripture. It got my attention while I was reading. With everything that's been going on in my personal life, this hit home.
I'm currently in the minor prophets, and I just read Habakkuk and Zephaniah, and there are so many scriptures in the minor prophets that are often overlooked by many people. |

| I think the word ''minor prophet" sounds so degrading, because I've gotten major things out of them.
Great verse |

| Heres another good passage I was reading tonight in the New Testament that has a similar message:
2 Corinthians 12: 7 And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. 8 Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. 9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
what I see here personally is: "God is bigger than your problems. When your sick, or things just arent going well, be happy and rejoice, because when compared to the power of God, those things become small and wither away." |

Great verse true enough... Although, the term "minor" refers to the length of the books, not their importance. |

it's just the connotation of the word. Do you find it "offensive"? |

GREAT that you read and quote these--they are short and thus often overlooked, but deserve consideration, as they are inspired word of God. I myself do not look at these books enough. graybeardheadbanger |
