| Anyone here eats kosher?
I personally (well, me and my parents), try to eat as kosher as possible (no shellfish/pig/horse/...) ofcourse, when we're invited by someone we will eat what they serve us. And we're not extremely strict (we see it as guidelines, not LAW)
I don't see it as ''obligatory'', but I think that if God says this in the bible (even if it's only for the Jews), He says it for specific reasons and not to make life harder. It is known that pig/shellfish are less healthy for example.
Any thoughts? |

| Theres nothing wrong with eating anything.
Matthew 15:16
Jesus replied, "You, too? Are you being willfully stupid? Don't you know that anything that is swallowed works its way through the intestines and is finally defecated? But what comes out of the mouth gets its start in the heart. It's from the heart that we vomit up evil arguments, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, lies, and cussing. That's what pollutes. Eating or not eating certain foods, washing or not washing your hands—that's neither here nor there."
its what comes out your mouth is more important, the words you speak. |

| Well I said that because Jim said there is nothing wrong with eating anything. And while that has truth to it, I was pointing out that Jesus also said not to eat something if it offends your brother. aha
and as for horse meat, i dont think they are aloud to serve it hear. people dont like to eat their pets
bison meat is fantastic tho! |

| 90% of what i buy is kosher except for meat. Since I can't afford to drive 25 miles to buy kosher meats I suffer with non kosher meat like turkey/chicken/beef. Yes there is a difference between kosher and non kosher meats in the way that there are prepared and most folks new to eating Kosher don't realize this.
Kosher means : The way the food is prepared. What Matt is pointing out are known simply as scripturally unclean animals. |

| Yeah, I went with the less complicated way of explaining. Kosher is indeed a way meat is prepared. It's also an hour drive for us if we want real kosher meat, and we can't afford that - Quote :
- But... you eat horse meat??
I don't, but in Belgium it is eaten by lots of people |
