Hey. If you have the time, please check out my band's song "Third Time's the Charm". What I'm trying to figure out is whether my low, ultra-brutal style of growls are to be considered inhales or exhales. I'm not very good with metal terminology, and I honestly can't tell. Neutral I've always just used "inhales" as a blanket term for super low, pig sounding death growls. A friend recently told me that my vocals sound exhaled. Would someone in the know please help me make the differentiation here? BTW, I'm mostly referring to my growls during the breakdown that comes shortly after the electronica segment. Thanks. Smile

this is pretty easy to figure out..........do you A) Inhale when you scream? or B) Exhale when you scream?

If you answered "A": Your growls are inhaled

If you answered "B": Your growls are, in fact, exhaled.

Yeah lol.... it has to do with breathing not how they sound.

And it sounds like you are exhaling, but I could be wrong. Usually inhales sound kinda weak and airy/raspy
