PostSubject: Some food for thought about death...   Some food for thought about death... Icon_minitime1Tue Aug 31, 2010 11:09 pm

Cassidy's death is just a reminder of how sudden it can happen, for anyone. I mean, the kid was walking down the street and got hit from behind. He died. .... :-/

Loosing someone we know (I knew him quite personally back in the day, tho I did lost contact with him in the last year) hurts a lot... I am no judge, I do not know whether he is with God or not, but I do know one thing. The second you die is the second it might be too late.

On the thread about cazz' death, someone said something like "may God guide him". But the truth is that God trys to guide us throughout all our lives. Life should not be taken lightly. It's a test, we all make choices, and if we do whatever and choose iniquity over righteoussness, it will get back to us eventually if we do not sincerly ask for forgiveness.

This is serious business.
James 1:27
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

1 Corinthians 10:21
You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot have a part in both the Lord's table and the table of demons.

Revelation 3:16
So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

Joey, what's wrong with you?

It seems you get kinda mad at me every time I post godly stuff. You surprised me this time, I thought you would reply with something like "oh yeah, get a load of this holy guy!"

I am not particularly holy at all, but God matters to me. And because He does, I talk about what matters to Him, and one thing that matters to Him is that i, you, and everyone else get in a relationship with Jesus so that by his sacrifice we can be saved from our putrid selves.

Not happy? Too bad man. For one, this is a Christian forum. And even if it was not, I would say the same things. But because this is a Christian forum, you've got no excuse to get pissy at me because of what I say.

If you deny Christ as your savior, it's your life man. But then stop acting like you do when someone tries to spark some sense in your life.

Didn't mean to offend you, but I am getting tired of your (rather childish) attitude. If you disagree with what I say, ignore me and that's all. I still love you and I enjoyed the discussions we had before. Iunno what's changed in you though...

You go on a fire-and-brimstone rant whenever somebody dies.

Yeah. Because this is one purpose of death itself when it happens around us. To remind us to stay alert and pure at heart. Because the world is going down to it's perdition and those who follow it will fall with it. Most of humanity chooses iniquity over righteousness and therefore goes to hell. Do you know where you're going when you die? Because you should care. Someone we know died, it could've been me. It could've been you.

That's between the individual and God, but whatev, I don't care if you want to proselytize, but here you're only using Cassidy's death as a lever for it and you know it. Not ******* cool.

*waves frantically*

Hi there Hero!

Dude, your presentation sucks. I think we've discussed this very thing before. Albeit, it's a very true statement that if someone doesn't have Christ in their life they'll burn for eternity, but why do you have to put it that way?

A much more effective message would be that of salvation taught, not something thumped like common propaganda.

I understand the mesh of personalities here, and you're a very blunt person - I can accept that. I understand you mean well, but damn dude... I can't relate to someone who takes the approach of shoving the right answer down people's throats. That's just asking for a rebellion sandwich.

I don't think you should candy coat this either - that's just from one extreme to the other. I do believe there is a way you could have presented this without coming across as an arrogant and angry hard-ass preacher.

Pulled the same sh*t when Mikey's friend passed.

It's not that you can't say what your message...it's how you say it. You lack tact and often come off as a judgemental person. You have a problem with the way I post coz I am a bit rough around the edges.

But at least I don't use a corpse as a soapbox.

Agreed.
Hero, I understand what you're trying to do, but your delivery comes across horribly wrong.

And knowing Cazz, he probably wouldn't be considered saved by Hero. Cazz was a little unorthodox Razz

Gotta love him for it though. That dude would make you think. G-d, I miss that kid.

Question: Did anyone need this? Even the non-Christians know this is a Christian forum.
Nice verse from James about pure religion. You might want to read that from a non-uber holiness/fundie perspective so you can see the principle in what you didn't bold.

If we're to love everyone, that means the "fundies" and the "radicals". And I believe that's what Jesus has called us to do.
