The bible states that God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. In the old church after Jesus was crucified the holy spirit came like a mighty rushing wind. The disciples and believers in those times were able to perform miracles and it became common practice for that to happen when those believers prayed. Do you think that believers still have that desire to see God or do you believe that it makes God look uncomfortable and unappealing? I know that there are those of us that do believe that Christians still have that desire, but why not the whole body of believers?

I think, really, it makes alot of people uncomfortable to think about this kind of stuff. I've had many conversations, even with my mom back in the day, about the gifts of the Holy Spirit and all that. And I've heard alot of people who say "Well that was back then. Things are different now". And that confuses me.

Like you said, He's the same yesterday and today and until He decides to end this world. And He's still the same then.

How can things that are so clearly stated in the Bible not be believed by some of God's followers?

I think some believers are too caught up in their day-to-day lives to really take the time to really get serious with their prayer lives as well as their Christian walk. As Steve Taylor once said, "It's harder to believe than not too."

Yeah the good old you can lead a horse to water thing. I don't think people realize how easy things would be. If we all believed in the power of healing, not just minor colds but healing the way Jesus did and raising the dead, than we wouldn't have to pay outrageous doctor bills or things like that. I have a desire to see things like that. Both of you have brought up good points.
