Matthew 24 Vide
PostSubject: Matthew 24   Matthew 24 Icon_minitime1Wed Mar 10, 2010 5:58 pm

I will do this this coming weekend, I have all of next week off, so I will have the time to write this out.

I will be presenting at least two views on it, so it is fair. Also because, I am leaning that both views might be right on this and that they might be merged together.

But I will do one chapter at a time, starting with Jesus infront of the temple and then progressing through 24 and then to 25. I will also be bringing in other passages as well, what is good, my Daniel and Revelation class just went over theses chapters and other verses, so I have them in the forefront of my mind.

So keep a look out for them over the next few days.

Matthew 24 Vide
PostSubject: Re: Matthew 24   Matthew 24 Icon_minitime1Sun Mar 14, 2010 7:37 pm

I will start with Matt. 24. I re-read Matt. 23 and I did not see, at the present time, anything relevant to 24.

Quote :
Mat 24:1 Jesus came out from the temple and was going away when His disciples came up to point out the temple buildings to Him.
Mat 24:2 And He said to them, "Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, not one stone here will be left upon another, which will not be torn down."
Mat 24:3 As He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?"
Mat 24:4 And Jesus answered and said to them, "See to it that no one misleads you.
Mat 24:5 "For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will mislead many.
Mat 24:6 "You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end.
Mat 24:7 "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes.
Mat 24:8 "But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.
Mat 24:9 "Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name.
Mat 24:10 "At that time many will fall away and will betray one another and hate one another.
Mat 24:11 "Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many.
Mat 24:12 "Because lawlessness is increased, most people's love will grow cold.
Mat 24:13 "But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.
Mat 24:14 "This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.

vs. 2 Jesus states that the temple will be destroyed and not one stone will be left on top of another. This was fulfilled in 70 C.E. The prophecies are leading up to 70 C.E.

The gold melted due to the hot heat, that the gold got in-between the stones and the Romans wanted the gold, so they took the temple apart, stone by stone to get to the gold.

Vs. 3 The mount of olives is important. This is the place where Christ will return.

Zec 14:4 In that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which is in front of Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be split in its middle from east to west by a very large valley, so that half of the mountain will move toward the north and the other half toward the south.

So this is a prophetic place for Christ.

Here are the questions: 1: Tell us, when will these things happen. 2. and what will be the sign of Your coming. 3. and of the end of the age.

vs 5. there will be many messiahs that will come. Leading up to the 70 C.E. There were many who claimed to be Messiahs:

Theudas:
It came to pass, while Cuspius Fadus was procurator of Judea, that a certain charlatan, whose name was Theudas, persuaded a great part of the people to take their effects with them, and follow him to the Jordan river; for he told them he was a prophet, and that he would, by his own command, divide the river, and afford them an easy passage over it. Many were deluded by his words. However, Fadus did not permit them to make any advantage of his wild attempt, but sent a troop of horsemen out against them. After falling upon them unexpectedly, they slew many of them, and took many of them alive. They also took Theudas alive, cut off his head, and carried it to Jerusalem. (Jewish Antiquities 20.97-98)

"Egyptian Prophet", c.55, with 30,000 unarmed Jews doing The Exodus reenactment massacred by the Roman procurator Antonius Felix (JW2.13.5, JA20.8.6, Acts 21:38)
Act 21:37 As Paul was about to be brought into the barracks, he said to the commander, "May I say something to you?" And he *said, "Do you know Greek?
Act 21:38 "Then you are not the Egyptian who some time ago stirred up a revolt and led the four thousand men of the Assassins out into the wilderness?"

Menahem ben Judah, allegedly son of Judas of Galilee, partook in a revolt against Agrippa II before being slain by a rival Zealot leader.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_of_Giscala

vs. 6,7,8 Wars in the first century.

Roman–Parthian Wars
Roman conquest of Britain
First Jewish–Roman War
Year of the Four Emperors

Augustus created a peace in the Roman Empire, after his death, it came undone and there were several wars.

vs, 9,10,11,12 false teachers and false prophets

Act 8:9 Now there was a man named Simon, who formerly was practicing magic in the city and astonishing the people of Samaria, claiming to be someone great;
Act 8:10 and they all, from smallest to greatest, were giving attention to him, saying, "This man is what is called the Great Power of God."
Act 8:11 And they were giving him attention because he had for a long time astonished them with his magic arts.

2Pe 2:1 But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves.

1Jn 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

These were written between 50-70 C.E., warning of false prophets, etc.

vs. 13,14 the gospel will be preached til the end, the end being the destruction of Jerusalem.

Col 1:3 We give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
Col 1:4 since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and the love which you have for all the saints;
Col 1:5 because of the hope laid up for you in heaven, of which you previously heard in the word of truth, the gospel
Col 1:6 which has come to you, just as in all the world also it is constantly bearing fruit and increasing, even as it has been doing in you also since the day you heard of it and understood the grace of God in truth;

The phrase in all the world, is that all Jews will hear it. Paul went to the gentiles, but he also preached to all the Jews in every providence he went to. So Paul was to preach to all the Jews in the Roman world, while Peter was to preach to the Jews in Israel proper.

So when the Jews heard the message, they would accept it or reject it. Then the end will come. The destruction of Jerusalem.

I will be doing this in pieces. So if any discussion comes up, they are done over that part and this is not a long treaty and everything gets lost. So tomorrow or so, I will do another section.

Quote :
Mat 24:15 "Therefore when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),
Mat 24:16 then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains.
Mat 24:17 "Whoever is on the housetop must not go down to get the things out that are in his house.
Mat 24:18 "Whoever is in the field must not turn back to get his cloak.
Mat 24:19 "But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days!
Mat 24:20 "But pray that your flight will not be in the winter, or on a Sabbath.
Mat 24:21 "For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will.
Mat 24:22 "Unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.
Mat 24:23 "Then if anyone says to you, 'Behold, here is the Christ,' or 'There He is,' do not believe him.
Mat 24:24 "For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect.
Mat 24:25 "Behold, I have told you in advance.
Mat 24:26 "So if they say to you, 'Behold, He is in the wilderness,' do not go out, or, 'Behold, He is in the inner rooms,' do not believe them.
Mat 24:27 "For just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.
Mat 24:28 "Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.

vs. 15 Daniel mentions that there will be at least three Abominations.

Dan 9:27 "And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate."

Many put this abomination with the one that Christ is talking about in Matt. 24. That Christ will put an end to the sacrifices, which he did with his death. And that there will be a war to put an end to destruction. Which means that Jerusalem and the temple will be destroyed.

Dan 11:31 "Forces from him will arise, desecrate the sanctuary fortress, and do away with the regular sacrifice. And they will set up the abomination of desolation.

This is concerning Antiochus IV, he was removed from Egypt by Rome and then took his anger out on Jerusalem and the temple, because they heard he was dead and partied.

Dan 12:11 "From the time that the regular sacrifice is abolished and the abomination of desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days.

Most assume this is future, and there is no other instance in history where the temple and Jerusalem was destroyed, like Antiochus and Rome did in 70 C.E. This is probably the event foretold by Zechariah.

Zec 13:7 "Awake, O sword, against My Shepherd, And against the man, My Associate," Declares the LORD of hosts. "Strike the Shepherd that the sheep may be scattered; And I will turn My hand against the little ones.
Zec 13:8 "It will come about in all the land," Declares the LORD, "That two parts in it will be cut off and perish; But the third will be left in it.
Zec 13:9 "And I will bring the third part through the fire, Refine them as silver is refined, And test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, And I will answer them; I will say, 'They are My people,' And they will say, 'The LORD is my God.'"

Which is parallel in Revelation 12:

Rev 12:3 Then another sign appeared in heaven: and behold, a great red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads were seven diadems.
Rev 12:4 And his tail *swept away a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her child.
Rev 12:6 Then the woman fled into the wilderness where she *had a place prepared by God, so that there she would be nourished for one thousand two hundred and sixty days.

vs. 16 When Rome attacked, many of the Christians fled Judea, the Jews asked them to stay and fight, the Christians did not. This is where the real break between Christians and Jews took place. Christians fled, while Jews stayed. Some Jews did not flee to the mountains, one famous instance is this: The Fall of Masada in 72. C.E.

vs. 17-20. 17: the roofs were flat, and they had stairs on the outside, so Jesus is saying that they should not enter the house and flee the city. 18: If they are in the field they work without their outer garment, Jesus tells them not to get the garment and flee the city.

19: Those that are pregnant can not move as easily, and there are many stories of pregnant women dying in the the siege. Such as: "Mary, the daughter of Eliezar, illustrious for her family and riches, who, being stripped and plundered of all her goods and provisions by the soldiers, in hunger, rage, and despair, killed and boiled her own sucking child, and had eaten one half of him before it was discovered."

20: Winter will make travel harder and the weather could kill them in the mountains. On the Sabbath they restricted themselves on that day, that some cities actually bared the city gate, so Jews could not leave the city. Which will ensure that they are killed during the seige.

Vs21: the siege is the greatest event in Jewish History. They lost their land, they lost their city, they lost their temple and were scattered from the land for almost 1900 years. When this happens in the future, the day will be hard, but it will be short and Christ will return afterward. So in comparison, 70 C.E. is the greater tribulation.

vs22: "Josephus computes the number of those who perished in the siege at eleven hundred thousand, besides those who were slain in other places, War, b. vi. c. 9; and if the Romans had gone on destroying in this manner, the whole nation of the Jews would, in a short time, have been entirely extirpated; but, for the sake of the elect, the Jews, that they might not be utterly destroyed, and for the Christians particularly, the days were shortened." Adam Clarke.

Rome would have destroyed the Jewish Race and the Christians. So God or Rome intervened to shorten the siege, thus letting the Jews and Christians survive. We know that Rome killed millions of Jews in the area and scattered what was left.

Vs 23: "Our Lord had cautioned his disciples against false Christs and prophets before, Mat_24:11; but he seems here to intimate that there would be especial need to attend to this caution about the time of the siege. And in fact many such impostors did arise about that time, promising deliverance from God; and the lower the Jews were reduced, the more disposed they were to listen to such deceivers." Adam Clarke

Christ warned them that false messiahs would rise up, he was alluding to them that they would create this mess. We know from history that there were a few that rose up, one I keep pointing to was John Levi, who was a major agitator and fought Rome.

Vs 24: Signs and wonders does not have to mean miracles. But actual signs of his alleged messiahship. John Levi proved he was of the line of David, that he wanted to free the Jews, etc. He won them a few battles and temporary liberated Israel from Rome. But it led to theri destruction.

vs. 25. Christ is telling them what will happen and what will lead up to the destrcution of Jerusalem in 70 C.E.

vs. 26. If someone says "I am the messiah" he is telling them not to believe them. To do so will lead to their own destruction.

vs. 27. When Rome came into Judea, they entered from the east and moved westward. Christ was coming in judgment against Jerusalem in 70 C.E.

vs. 28. The corpse is Israel, the vulture is Rome.

Quote :
Mat 24:29 "But immediately after the tribulation of those days THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED, AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND THE STARS WILL FALL from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
Mat 24:30 "And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and great glory.
Mat 24:31 "And He will send forth His angels with A GREAT TRUMPET and THEY WILL GATHER TOGETHER His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.
Mat 24:32 "Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near;
Mat 24:33 so, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door.
Mat 24:34 "Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.
Mat 24:35 "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.
Mat 24:36 "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.
Mat 24:37 "For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah.
Mat 24:38 "For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark,
Mat 24:39 and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be.
Mat 24:40 "Then there will be two men in the field; one will be taken and one will be left.
Mat 24:41 "Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one will be left.
Mat 24:42 "Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming.
Mat 24:43 "But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.
Mat 24:44 "For this reason you also must be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will.
Mat 24:45 "Who then is the faithful and sensible slave whom his master put in charge of his household to give them their food at the proper time?
Mat 24:46 "Blessed is that slave whom his master finds so doing when he comes.
Mat 24:47 "Truly I say to you that he will put him in charge of all his possessions.
Mat 24:48 ''But if that evil slave says in his heart, 'My master is not coming for a long time,'
Mat 24:49 and begins to beat his fellow slaves and eat and drink with drunkards;
Mat 24:50 the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour which he does not know,
Mat 24:51 and will cut him in pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

vs. 29 This is a verse people apply to the "last days" but notice that it says "In Those Days" the question is what days? If read futurist it is talking about when Christ returns, at his second coming. But the flow stems from what has just been said: When Rome attacks Israel. That is "those days" because they are future from when Christ stated it.

The Sun, Moon, and Stars are symbolic of powers. When you read Revelation 12 and many of the judgments, you see the same line up:

Rev 8:12 The fourth angel sounded, and a third of the sun and a third of the moon and a third of the stars were struck, so that a third of them would be darkened and the day would not shine for a third of it, and the night in the same way.

Rev 12:1 A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars;

Sun, moon and stars are signs of power and it is in relations to Israel or to Gentile powers.

When Rome attacks Judah, this will be the sign of the end of Israel as a country, that is until 1946/7, almost 1900 years later. But it was also the begin of the end of the peace of Rome. Rome began to fight more wars after this time period, than the previous one hundred years under the Pax Romana created by Augustus.

The Sun, Moon and Stars is simply the meaning of the greater to lesser powers being darkened.

vs. 30 Most take this as "Second Coming", and in a literal sense, the argument makes perfect sense. But keeping in context, Christ did not come back at the battle of Jerusalem. So this must have another meaning concerning the battle of Jerusalem.

When Jerusalem was destroyed it created a great mourning within the Tribes of Israel, it happened on the 9th of Av: The first temple was destroyed on this very day 656 years before, when Babylon destroyed it. Tisha B'Av

Adam Clark states: Then shall appear the sign of the Son of man - The plain meaning of this is, that the destruction of Jerusalem will be such a remarkable instance of Divine vengeance, such a signal manifestation of Christ’s power and glory, that all the Jewish tribes shall mourn, and many will, in consequence of this manifestation of God, be led to acknowledge Christ and his religion.

As Chap. 19 of Revelation shows the destruction of the Ottoman Empire by Britain and the Allies during World War One, the "Son of Man" is Rome destroying Jerusalem. Both a divine Judgment by Christ. Fulfilling the prophecy of: Psa 110:1 A Psalm of David. The LORD says to my Lord: "Sit at My right hand Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet."

vs. 31 The trumpet is also symbolic, God will call the elect across the sky (the sky is symbolic of Israel, in which we see the sun, moon, and stars). God will call all of Israel together to the land of Israel.

The argument that this is the second coming is very strong, due to the similarities that Paul writes, that there will be a loud trumpet and voice and God will call the elect into the sky.
1Th 4:16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.

But the difference is that Jesus does not make reference to the resurrection, which Paul does. But this is not proof that these two events are different. But keeping in context with what Christ has been talking about, this has to be about the destruction of Jerusalem.

Christ is consolidating the Church with this act and scattering Israel at the same time.

Mat 8:10 Now when Jesus heard this, He marveled and said to those who were following, "Truly I say to you, I have not found such great faith with anyone in Israel.
Mat 8:11 "I say to you that many will come from east and west, and recline at the table with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven;
Mat 8:12 but the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

Christ will cast out Israel and there will be mourning and gnashing of teeth. What happened when Jerusalem was destroyed?

Luk 21:24 and they will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations; and Jerusalem will be trampled under foot by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

When Rome destroyed Jerusalem, God started his judgment on Israel in away he has not acted in the past. He is dispersing her throughout the entire world, removing them from the Kingdom of God and giving it to the Church and lasting til the times of the gentiles be fulfilled. That can be explained in two ways, either the re-founding of Israel after World War one and two or when Christ returns at his second coming.

Vs. 32 Christ will give them a parable to explain what he just said. That this will happen in away that they will recognized, as they know when summer approached when a fig tree leaves become tender. That is sprout.

vs. 33 When they see these signs they will know that Christ (the judgment of Jerusalem is near).

vs 34 This generation will not pass away. This goes to show that he is talking about the people at the time he is speaking, not to a future people.

There was a book written 88 reasons why the Rapture will happen in 1988 (or something like that), based on because Israel was a nation formed in 1948, showing that he misunderstood this passage and placed it in the future. Now we are reaching 60 years after the forming of Israel and none of these signs have happened in this generation, but they did happen in the first generation after Jesus. 40 years later or so, from roughly 30 C.E. to 70 C.E. which is one generation, the judgment came.

Some translate the word Generation as Race, this is false. There is a word for race, but it is not used here. Generation here means timeframe between people being born and dying. If it was race it would be the word would be Ethnos, where we get the word ethnic. That would be a race of people, in this case the word is: genea. This is where we get the word Generation from.

vs. 35 Christ is saying "I am telling you the truth" in the most graphic way possible, the world will pass away first before I tell a lie. Christ will come to judge Israel and Jerusalem in 70 C.E. on the 9th of Av. That Rome will destroy them and Christ is wielding the sword against the city and temple.

vs 36 No man knows when Rome will destroy Jerusalem, that is why he states: Mat 24:20 "But pray that your flight will not be in the winter, or on a Sabbath.

But we can look back on history and see when it happened, one generation of the time he told the prophecy.

vs 37-39 The days will be like the days of Noah: Israel and the Jews will take life as normal. They will revolt and think Rome will not stop them, God is on their side. They will have victory and they will think that God is on their side. Than it will change, Rome will dominate them, they will see God has abandoned them and left them to their judgment. Just as in the Days of Noah. They would do what they wanted to do, and think God will not destroy them "We are God's children" and Jesus words are false "The kingdom of God will be taken from you", they attack Rome thinking God will win for them.

They will find out that Christ was fighting them, not Rome. They were fighting Christ and Christ defeated them and took the kingdom from them and gave it to the Church.

vs 40-41 When Rome invaded to take Jerusalem, they would kill one person and let another person go to report to Jerusalem that they were coming. Which was a common tactic they did. They would kill many and let many live to let them spread word that ROME was coming.

vs 42-44 Christ is warning them that when you see Rome killing and releasing, know that Christ is at the door. The Hour arrived! Rome took its time to respond to the Jewish Revolt, the Revolt started in 66 C.E. They arrived in late 66 C.E. or early 67 C.E. When the revolt happened, Rome became very unsteady in its power: Nero was in power when it started. Christ said there would be powers shaken in the sun, moon and stars. This is what happened between 66 C.E. to 70 C.E.

Nero was emperor. He was declared an enemy of the people and fled and commited suicide.
Galba became the next emperor and was murdered a few months later.
Followed by Otho.
Followed by Vitellius.
Followed by Vespasian.
Known as the year of the Four Emperors.

Christ said there would be powers shaken in the Sun, moon and stars before the "coming of the Son of Man", this happened just as the revolt occurred, with Nero becoming erratic and having Four emperors in one year before it falling to Vespasian.

The "Son of Man" in this case would be the Son of Emperor Vespasian: Titus. Who would subdue the revolt and destroy the city and temple.

Vs. 45-51 This is a parable that distinguishes a follower of Christ and the Jewish people.

The Follower of Christ will heed the warning and flee the city and the temple. Which is what they did, the Jews wanted to fight. The Jews said "Christ was not coming back" and killed and persecuted the Church. This is seen with the Apostle Paul for example, when he was killing the Christians. And it followed up to this time. Jews saw Christians as a threat to their religion and would turn them into the government and claim "they are no Jew", thus opening them to persecution. As long as Christianity was seen as a Jewish sect, they were tolerated. But when Jews started to claim they are not Jewish, they became an illegal religion and opened for persecution both by Jews and Romans.

Because the Jews did not believe, they lost their kingdom to the Church, and they were torn to pieces by the Roman Eagle. Christ destroyed Judah and the temple.

Matthew 24 Vide
PostSubject: Re: Matthew 24   Matthew 24 Icon_minitime1Thu Apr 01, 2010 4:18 am

I decided to focus on Chap. 24, since that was the bulk of the questions that the Disciples asked.

I will sum it up here:

Mat 24:3 As He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?"

When we read this passage we think the "Second coming of Christ". but Christ had different meaning then what we are thinking.

All of these are in response to the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple.
When will these things happen? We know they happened in 70 C.E.
What will be the sign of your coming? We see that there will be trouble in the leadership of the empire. When the Revolt happened, Nero was crazy and was expelled, leading up to the year of the four emperors. This taking place the exact time of when the Revolt took place. To me, this is too much to be a coincidence. When the Jews revolt and Rome faces its most unsteady period in over one hundred years?
What is the end of the age? Christ said that he would take the kingdom from the Jews and give it to the Jews. This happened at 70 C.E.

This is not a future event, but an event that happen during the generation of Christ.

If this is the case, then we have vastly misunderstood what Christ said about the last days and the end of the age.

Chap. 25 is two parables that show what Christ will do at this time, separate Sheep from the goats. In case no one knows, sheep's and goats are the same family, so he is talking about separation of the Church and Israel.

This is based on how they recognized Christ. If they followed God and denied Christ, they will be thrown into judgment, in this case, they would be destroyed with Jerusalem. The Church will be separated from them and the kingdom of God will be consolidated with them, both Jews and Gentiles who see Christ as the Messiah.
