since I cut out everything with MSG in it......

my trash is full and my cupboards/fridge and freezer are pretty much void of anything with this crappy additive in it.......talk about a system shock, my body is literally going through MSG withdrawals. Plus my cupboards/fridge and freezer are mostly empty now

yeah we have it under a lot of different names, sometimes ingredient lists contain MSG mutliple times, under those different names. my mom had been doing research on it. it's funny, "natural flavors/flavorings" is another sneaky name for it, so we were joking that we were going to start buying everything artificially flavored.. but not really, i can't imagine that's any better for you. lol

I find cannibalizing the elderly helps alot, cut out all foods and dine on flesh, it does wonders for the skin.
seriously though i dont feed 90% of the crap thats on tv to my kids, they eat alot of salads, and they love fruit, we rarely if ever go get fast food anymore

Well you can be sure that it doesn't do you any good and if you ever get kids you don't want to feed it to them (better safe than sorry). People do react differently to glutamate, some get worse symptoms than others. How much glutamate you eat obviously also has a big impact.

There are many additives that aren't good for you, but if one wants to stop eating (or cut down on) one of them, glutamate is definitely a top candidate. Glutamate can cause so many different things and be really bad for ones health. The fact that it's not recommended for children or pregnant women already confirms that it's not a good additive.

I do feel that the MSG-myth site overdoes the MSG-free diet. Some food like tomatoes and mushrooms naturally contain glutamate, but unlike the synthetic glutamate, it's harmless. As long as you eat fresh home cooked food that hasn't been pre-spiced at the factory and check your spice mixes for glutamate I think people will be just fine.

The other thing you can do is if you end up eating MSG, you can do the occasional detox. I have a friend that did a full-body mineral wrap detox & he lost several pounds, inches off his waist, and wouldn't even touch soda/sweets or certain foods for weeks because they just didn't taste good anymore. It changed his diet afterwards, so he eats healthier overall now. I've been considering this, but it's soooo expensive in my area... Sad

A MSG-free diet sounds like in involves too much cooking. Razz

But once I learn to cook better maybe I'll try it.
