Fried onions are good, that's the only way I'll eat them.

I was at an exotic foods tasting event emphasizing pork that one of my parishioners took my wife and I too, and, since I like to try new things I went for it (my wife chose to abstain). That, however, may have been the grossed thing I have ever eaten. Mostly it was the texture. It had a really slimy, clear gelatin-like outer skin and a bright white piece of really crunchy cartilage in the middle. Not a good combination! But, I can always say I tried it. Right? Laughing

I suck at eating.
Mainly it's due to some psychological thing, I think... when I was born, I actually remember tubes being down my throat. I don't know I remember that far back, but I certainly do. Anyway, I think this has cause some trauma and I have always been very selective about textures in food. I went to psychiatrist after psychiatrist as a kid, but none of them really had much of anything relevant to say.
Also, my trachea was not working when I was born. I had Tracheoesophageal fistula, and, if you look it up on Wikipedia, you'll see how much of a problem it was. It's basically an abnormal connection with the trachea and esophagus, but anyway, I literally could not eat. I survived, but my esophagus is still quite small, so it actually takes me a while to swallow food. It's very bothersome.

So if anyone ever has me over for dinner and I'm not eating something, it's not because your food isn't delicious. It's because I simply can't, sometimes. I can't even take pills without breaking capsules and putting them in a drink or something. It sucks.

Foods I don't eat are:

-Hot dogs (except for chili-cheese hot dogs; the ones from Papaya King are AMAZING)
-American-style dill pickles (eww)
-Soda (I'm basically allergic to most sodas, my body cannot take the carbonation)
-Pretzels
-Plain chips

Basically, I'm not a big fan of some foods others seem to revere so much.

Also, I'm not much of an olive fan, to be honest. I'll eat them cooked with some other things...but eww I cannot stand the taste. I love olive oil though, and use it in almost anything I cook.
I hate eating most fast foods, and foods that have Monosodium Glutamate in them (a carcinogen, supposedly).

I basically just prefer healthy, real foods. I'm an omnivore. I once considered vegetarianism and even veganism...but nah. I love meat too much (and Elan wouldn't be able to be with me if I was either...long story haha).

next to red cabbage, I have REAL big trouble with eating red paprika (not green, that one's yummy).
What kind of melon? Personally I think the white-ish greenish sweeter kind of melon is delicious (forgot what it's called) and better than cantaloupe (the harder and orange kind of melon).

And have you noticed how it seems people in Germany love to eat raw paprika so much? I don't know if it was just the Germans I knew or a German thing Razz

I have just recently realized how bad this Glutamate is for one and try to avoid it at all costs. It really sucks how widely used it is in all kinds of food. I don't know about the US, but here it is often disguised under the code E621.

Problems that are caused by MSG
Seizures
Brain cell death
Brain damage
Allergies
Headaches
Strokes
Hypoglycemia
Brain Tumors

MSG is nothing but a toxin [okay it's an excitotoxin that stimulates your brain.....to death] , the problem is, you can't get 80% of your food with out MSG in it anymore. I tis harder and harder to find food not made with MSG or Wheat Gluten [two things we don't need but are in just about everything now]

Yeah it sucks, I vehemently cannot stand MSG. It's in so many things...even freakin' so called "healthy" SOUPS!!! WTH?!?

The extent to which so many bought foods contain MSG and all this other crap really disgusts me. BHA, BHT in so many things (including cereal). And I rarely see bread without "high fructose corn syrup" in it anymore. I mean come on. BREAD doesn't need that.

It's so unnecessary. MSG is apparently a PROVEN CARCINOGEN. My dad died of brain cancer and now I'm paranoid of getting the same thing. I refuse to eat this MSG crap and other cancer-causing ingredients found in so many things.

Even most of our shampoos and shower gels and LOTIONS contain so much crap that's bad for us (seriously, research on this and the ingredients). Don't even get me started on makeup ingredients... I had a teacher who told us once "don't put on your skin what you wouldn't eat". Well, that is advice well to be taken, methinks Razz.

Seriously, this sickens me. Elan, let's have an organic farm in Belgium or something.

German Potato Salad. I'm sorry but I tried that and I had to run to a bathroom to puke it out. It was not a good experience.
